David Shaffer

Private investigator/novelist David Shaffer lives with his wife Mary and their dog Max in North Carolina. He is an active licensed investigator in California and North Carolina and currently operates his one-man private detective agency in North Carolina’s Piedmont-Triad area. David's first published novel is titled Paid in Full. He is currently completing his second novel in the Harry Caine Mystery Series, which is titled Burned. 

David spends most of his time resolving client assignments. He has been a private investigator since 1990. His current case work comes from attorneys, insurance companies, private citizens, small business owners, and bounty hunters. The PI business provides a steady stream of plot-line ideas and character profiles. The remainder of his time is consumed by writing, reading, and playing drums in the Greensboro Big Band.  

David was born in West Virginia and moved to Miami at an early age, where he attended public schools, and graduated from the University of Miami after serving a four year hitch in the U.S. Navy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
