
Richard Helms
Richard Helms retired in 2002 after twenty-two years as a forensic psychologist, to take a position with a local college where he works in the Counseling Department and occasionally teaches.
His Pat Gallegher novels Juicy Watusi and Wet Debt were nominated for the Private Eye Writers of America Shamus Award. The first book in his Eamon Gold series, Grass Sandal, was released at the end of 2004. The second book in this series, Cordite Wine, will be released this fall, giving him nine titles currently in print.
When not writing, Helms enjoys gourmet cooking, amateur astronomy, reading, building stringed musical instruments, and rooting for his beloved Tarheels.
Richard Helms lives in Weddington, North Carolina, with his lovely spouse Elaine, their two children Alex and Rachel, and an ever-evolving number of cats.
